Meet the Chef

Chef Rochelle H. Burgess brings over a decade of Fine Dining experience to Humboldt County, California. Born in Jamaica and raised in New York, her interest in a culinary career was sparked early on.

After graduating from The Institute of Culinary Education with a Degree in Pastry and Baking, Chef Rochelle continued her career and honed her skills at critically acclaimed restaurants DB Bistro Moderne, Francois Payard Bakery, Collichio & Sons, Talde, Calissa, Colonie, and others of note. During her stint as Sous Chef at Fort Defiance, Chef Rochelle was a contestant on Food Networks Chopped.

Drawing inspiration from the many different cultures she grew up around;Chef Rochelle’s approach to food focuses on seasonal and sustainable ingredients, utilizing them in innovative ways with an emphasis on New American Cuisine.
